The Three MCU Films That We Are Itching To See in 2022

While the worldwide pandemic definitely left a gap of good sci-fi movies for a long while and had us watching reruns of Firefly and all the previously released Marvel Universe movies, there’s plenty to look forward to coming in 2022.

Marvel fans especially are in for a good year of Marvel movies, including Spiderman 2: into the Spiderverse. Without further ado, the below three movies are the releases which we can’t wait to see.

Morbius

The living-dead vampire Morbius is going to be a very interesting look at an antagonist from the Spiderman comics, which date his character back to 1971. With Jared Leto in the titular role, and a film release date of January 28, 2022. The main character Michael Morbius is a scientist who dabbled with finding a cure for his rare blood disease, and ultimately ended up with superhero powers along with a form of vampirism – without any of a vampire’s normal drawbacks.

It will be interesting to see how Lerato will portray this hero who has developed a distinct craving for blood, and how Marvel plan to tie him into other MCU storylines since in the comics, such as Spiderman, Morbius is an antagonist to while other comics show that Dr Stephen Strange is a friend of his. Starring alongside Lerato is former Doctor Who star Matt Smith, who was reported to have joined after encouragement from long-time friend and Doctor Who co-star Karen Gillan (Nebula in the MCU).

Wakanda Forever

No one could possibly hope to replace the iconic Black Panther role that Chadwick Bosman portrayed, which is just one reason why the sequel to Black Panther is one of the top movies coming in 2022, titled: Wakanda Forever.

The movie is set to be released in July 2022, as part of Marvel Studios Phase Four of superhero films. The main role of T’Challa will not be recast, though other familiar faces from the first movie will be returning. We can confirm that Dominique Thorne recently began filming scenes for Wakanda Forever as her character Riri Williams / Ironheart.

Lupita Nyong’o will be reprising their role as Nakia, with Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Bassett was Ramonda. We can’t wait to see what depths the film will bring to not only the characters, but to the Marvel Universe overall. It’s as exciting as online betting.

The Marvels

The second installment of Captain Marvel will see Brie Larson return as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, alongside Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau in November 2022. The fitness schedule for Larson has apparently been intense – the actress however hasn’t complained and has been posting several selfies with washboard abs.

The story of The Marvels has been kept tightly under wraps, but from the cast lineup it’s likely that WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau who developed super powers, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel) will be interacting with Carol Danvers throughout the movie as the title pretty much implies this.
